Muranga University Tree Planting Day at Karua Hill

Greening Our Future

We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of a momentous tree planting event at Karua Hill, in collaboration with Muranga County, Kiabicho Forest Station, and the Karua Community Forest Association Service. Held on 15-May-2024, this initiative exemplifies our ongoing commitment to environmental conservation and community engagement.

Led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academic, Research, and Student Affairs (ARSA) at MUT, Prof. Prisca J. Tuitoek, Phd, the event brought together stakeholders from across departments, government, and the local community. Together, we planted a remarkable 2,000 trees, attaining our initial target of 10,000 tree marking a significant milestone in our collective efforts to safeguard the environment.

This achievement reflects the power of collaboration and underscores the importance of collective action in addressing pressing environmental challenges. By partnering with local authorities and community organizations, we have demonstrated our dedication to fostering sustainable practices and preserving our natural heritage for future generations.

The success of this tree planting initiative not only contributes to the restoration of the local ecosystem but also serves as a testament to our shared commitment to environmental stewardship.
