The Mazingira Week 5-10 October 2026 activities in Murang’a County were officially flagged off at Murang’a University of Technology (MUT) by the Office of the County Commissioner, in collaboration with county stakeholders and the University.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nyariki, joined the County Commissioner’s Office and other stakeholders in planting approximately 100 tree seedlings at the University, marking the start of a week of environmental conservation activities across the county.
The flag-off was held under the theme “Sustaining Resilient Environment, Clean Environments,” reaffirming our collective commitment to tree growing, environmental restoration, clean surroundings and climate resilience.
The initiative contributes to the national tree-growing agenda and the Presidential target of planting 6 million tree seedlings in one hour, demonstrating the power of collective action in building a greener and more resilient Kenya.

Together, let us plant, nurture and protect our environment for generations to come.
