Message from Coordinator Career Services

The Career Office continues to support students with expert advice, resources and assistance in the formulation and implementation of their career goals. Students are exposed to a wide array of local and international industry players so that they understand the complexities of the job market.
We are committed to preparing students for productive careers. Career Services Office (CSO) continues to provide advice as well as create networks that will be beneficial to students during their academic life at Murang’a University of  Technology . It is hoped that students shall chat their career paths and become reliable citizens who will spur economic growth through employment and entrepreneurship.

The Career Services Office (CSO) has hosted numerous events geared towards linking students to industry. It collaborated with the School of Computing and Information (SCIT) to host guests from the African Advanced Level Telecommunications Institute (AFRALTI) who spoke to students on careers in ICT. CSO also collaborated with the Department of Education and Technology to offer a career talk to fourth year students.
CSO engaged with secondary school students as part of its community outreach.

In June 2022, CSO hosted a career day with the theme “unlocking your future career”. The event was held at the university grounds. The Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Prisca Tuitoek, opened the event. She encouraged students to think big in order to achieve their full potential. The students were shown various research-based exhibits by different departments. They also toured the various facilities at the university.
In July 2022, CSO participated in a career exposition event at Mumbi Girls High School. Over 2,500 students from Murang’a County attended the event. Faculty from Murang’a University of Technology (MUT) gave career talks to students and encouraged them to join the University. MUT also had a tent where university products were displayed. CSO also gave branded items to students.
